Mildred Louise Burgess Deon, age 66, of Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Deon was born August 28, 1947, in Lincoln County, to the late William Slade and Pansy Louise Bradshaw Burgess. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Lee Burgess, William Ray Burgess, Calvin B. Burgess, and Troy E. Burgess; and sisters, Brenda Burgess Powell, Gloria Jean Burgess Ross, and Peggy Burgess Ross. She was retired from Easter Seals.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Wayne Grant with Lisa Ford at his side of Lincolnton and Danny Calvin Grant of Pineola, NC; two daughters, Michelle Deon Minish and husband Donald of Lincolnton and Paula Lay Broschard and husband Richard of Mooresville, NC; one brother, Billy Joe Burgess and wife Jeanette of Scranton, SC; three grandchildren, Lindsey Lay, Trinity Deon, and Madison Danielle Grant; step-granddaughter, Samantha Broschard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
