Lorine Talbert Engle, age 86, of 4316 Highway 27, East, in Iron Station, died on Thursday, June 12, 2014.

Her funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. G.W. Horne and Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow in the Iron Station Cemetery. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Engle was born February 7, 1928, in Catawba County, to the late Grier A. Talbert and Hilda Brotherton Talbert. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Garney Engle, a grandson, Freddie Avery, Jr., and great-grandson, Robbie Caskey. She worked in textiles.

She is survived by three sons, Gene Engle and wife Ramona of Iron Station, Tom Engle and wife Patti of Lincolnton, and Gary Grhal of Iron Station; one daughter, Jeannette E. Avery and husband Freddie of Iron Station; four sisters, Julia “Judy Bell” Abernathy of Iron Station, Mary Wheeler of Alexis, Shirley Ward of Iron Station, and Rosie Culp of Denver; three grandchildren, Leann Engle, Heather E. Caskey, and Matthew Engle; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Engle, Carson Caskey, and Brody Engle.
