Clara Maria Gilbert Long, age 67, of 1444 Rhodes Rhyne Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, June 22, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marie Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Long was born July 5, 1946, in Catawba County, to the late Gaither Henderson and Iller Mae Martin Gilbert. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lester Long, Jr. She worked as a spinner.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Long and Billy Long, both of Lincolnton; one daughter, Wanda Chandler of Gastonia; three brothers, Jerry Gilbert of Vale, Wayne Gilbert and Tommy Gilbert, both of Lincolnton;  two sisters, Ricky Barjet of Lincolnton and Annaleigh Whisnant of Cooksville, NC; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
