Mr. William Elliott Ryan, age 56, of 8 Heath Road, Monmouth Junction, New Jersey died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, in the Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Denver, NC with Rev. Tim Killian officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at 8063 Graham Road, Denver, NC after the service.

Mr. Ryan was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 25, 1958, and was the son of the late William H. Ryan and Beatrice Jane Black Ryan.  He was a retired restaurant manager.

Elliott was a long time resident of New Jersey, where he lived since moving there in his childhood. He loved movies and motorcycles; he enjoyed cooking; and he had an extensive vinyl music collection. If there was anything that you ever wanted to learn about anything, Elliott was the man from whom to learn it; whether it was about comic books, the mechanics of an airplane engine, or lists of obscure hockey facts. More than anything else, he enjoyed a very simple life surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Ryan is survived by three sisters, Teresa Ryan Kent of New Jersey and her husband, Harold Kent; Carolyn Ryan of Florida; Frances Ryan of New Jersey; and his niece and nephew-in-law, Danielle Ryan Schafer and Kyle Schafer of Hampton, Virginia.
