Obituaries

Mr. Michael Gene Lind, age 54, of 8493 Pine Lake Road, Denver, NC died Sunday, July 27, 2014.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Morrie Lawing officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Lind was born on December 1, 1959 in Pontiac, Illinois and was the son of John K. Lind and the late Patricia Y. Lind.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, John R. Lind. Mr. Lind worked as a general contractor.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was most compassionate with his giving to others.

He is survived by his son, Brian M. Lind of Pontiac Illinois and granddaughter, Emma M. Lind; two brothers, Patrick T. Lind and wife, Lisa of Pontiac, Illinois and Joseph W. Lind and wife, Pam of Pontiac, Illinois; two sisters, Debra Golliday and husband, Rick of Pontiac, Illinois and Janet Runyon and husband, Mike of Pontiac, Illinois;  his loving companion of many years, Celeste Renaldo of the home; her daughter, Heather Mann and son-in-law, Weldon Mann of Charlotte; her son, Donny Renaldo and wife, Claire of Charlotte;  grandsons, Will Mann, Henry Mann, Bradford Mann and Philip Renaldo all of Charlotte and many nieces and nephews.

A fund in memory of Michael will be established in the future for his granddaughter, Emma Lind.  Memorials may also be made to the Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club Foundation, PO Box 861, Denver, NC 28037.
