Obituaries

Emily Bumgardner Kiser, age 79, of 643 Lynch Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, August 6, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014, at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven P. King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Kiser was born March 4, 1935, in Lincoln county, to the late Everette and Irene Shuford Bumgardner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Avery Kiser. She was retired from J.P. Stevens.

Emily is survived by a son, Robyn Kiser of Lincolnton; three daughters, Pam K. Norman and husband Alan of Lawndale, Lynn K. Mayo and husband Rick, and Tanya K. Humphries and husband Marty, all of Lincolnton; two sisters, Betty Keener of Lincolnton and Shirley Carswell of Hickory; and five grandchildren, Drew and Will Richardson, Travis Rudisill, and Breanne and Alex Norman.
