Obituaries

Edward R. Spaulding, 68, passed away at his home in Vale, NC, on August 13, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Other services in Madison, Maine will be held at a later date.

He was born July 16, 1946, in Madison, Maine, and a graduate of Madison Memorial High School Class of 1965. Ed served in the U.S. Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran. He lived in Pinellas Park, FL and Vale, NC where he was a cabinet maker.

He is predeceased by his parents, Martelle Spaulding and Thelma Spaulding (Mitchell).

Ed is survived by his beloved high school sweetheart, Sharon Spaulding; his loving daughter Cindy Spaulding of Belmont, NC; two long-time kitty companions, Punky and Bear; two sisters, Audrey Merrow and husband Lawrence, Sr. of Belgrade, ME and Ruth Monfils and husband Kenneth of Charlotte; one brother, Clyde Spaulding and wife Marjorie of Madbury, NH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Heartfelt thanks to all who so compassionately aided in the care and support for him and his family.
