Obituaries

Mr. Julius Leroy “J.L.” Hallman, age 78, of 1195 Redding Lane in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

J.L. was born March 25, 1936, in Lincoln county to the late June and Esper Smith Hallman. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Janice Kay Purser Hallman, a grandson, Levi Hallman, and sister, Betty Sue Seate.

He is survived by a son, Jay Hallman of Charlotte; four brothers, Larry Hallman of Cherryville, Jerry Hallman of Lincolnton, Kermit Hallman of Vale, and Webber Hallman of Maiden; two sisters, Joann Champion of Double Shoals and Peggy Hall of Newton; two grandsons, Brent Hallman and wife Ashley, and Nolan Hallman, all of Lincolnton; and a great-granddaughter, Corrigan Hallman.
