Mr. Bernice “Bill” Harold Hoover, age 89, of 1982 Cansler Road in Vale, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Jack McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Bill was born May 8, 1925, in Lincoln county, to the late Pinkney Austin and Ila Reep Hoover. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Warren Hoover; four brothers, Paul Hoover, John Hoover, Clyde Hoover, and James Hoover; and two sisters, Alene Armstrong and Evelyn Lackey. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and then later worked as a supervisor in textiles, and as a greeter for Wal-Mart.
He is survived by two sons, B.H. Hoover, JR. and wife Sunni of Charlotte, and Robb Hoover and wife Anna of Charlotte; three daughters, Gay Hoover Miller and husband John, Barbara Pope and husband Jim, and Cathy Ann Hoover, all of Vale; one sister, Doris Eaker and husband Lester; sister-in-law, Mrs. Dot Hoover; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
