Pervie Edward Hester, age 83, of Crouse, died on Thursday, October 9, 2014.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating. Burial will follow in the Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Hester was born August 26, 1931, in Gaston county, to the late Ernest and Belvie Stines Hester. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Reynolds Hester, a son, Berlie Ray Hester, and three brothers. He worked as a shipping clerk.

He is survived by a son, Eddie Hester and wife Jean of Crouse; two daughters, Janet Bryson and Betty McGinnis, both of Crouse; a sister, Ruby Clinton of Cherryville; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
