Obituaries

Velta Irene Heleine, age 72, of 4829 Polo Gate Blvd in Charlotte, died on Monday, October 20, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Denver United Methodist Church.

Ms. Heleine was born July 7, 1942, in Marshall, Illinois to the late Charles Glen and Mildred Velta Ledermann Heleine. She served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a flight nurse. Her nursing career spanned the course of 42 years.

She is survived by three brothers, Ernest E. Heleine and wife Linda of Indiana, Chuck E. Heleine and wife Judy of Denver, and Fred Heleine and wife Susan of Pennsylvania; a sister, Reta May Kirk and husband Oscar of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
