Edna Marie Houser Whitener, age 88, of 7153 Houser Road in Vale, died on Saturday, October 25, 2014.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, in the Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Freida Hobson officiating. The family will receive friends graveside following the service.
Mrs. Whitener was born January 4, 1926, in Lincoln county, to the late Wesley Oliver and Nannie Clyde Leonard Houser. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl William Whitener. She was co-owner of Earl Whitener Hosiery Mill.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Whitener of Denver; and a daughter, Carolyn Whitener of Vale.
