Obituaries

Mr. Billy Gene Rhyne, age 84, of 110 Philbeck Street, Apt. J-1 in Shelby, died on Friday, October 29, 2014.

Services will be private.

Mr. Rhyne was born May 5, 1930, in Lincoln county, to the late Smith Alexander and Ruby Lawing Rhyne. He served in the United States Navy and then later was a salesman in food service.

He is survived by a daughter, Mona Fitzgerald and husband Jim of Raleigh; a son, Mike Rhyne and wife Sheri of Southport; a brother, Sid Rhyne of Lincolnton; a sister, Joan Leatherman of Wake Forest; and two grandchildren, Spencer Padgett and Lindsey Kiser.

Memorials may be made to the Cleveland County Council on Aging, 100 TR Harris Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
