Obituaries

Joseph Edward Stroud age 93, of Lawrenceville, GA and formerly of Heavner Road in Lincolnton, NC died Sunday, November 2, 2014.

Mr. Stroud was born on January 6, 1921 in Catawba County. He was the son of the late Charlie A. Stroud and Mamie Elliott Stroud. Mr. Stroud was a veteran of the US Army Air Force. He worked as a credit analyst for Exxon in Charlotte and Houston, TX for 35 years.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ivan Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 10:45 am, Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn West in Charlotte, NC.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Nellie Leonard Stroud of Lawrenceville, GA; Eddie Stroud and wife Anne of Lilburn, GA, Donald Stroud of Baltimore, MD, and Gary Stroud and wife Diane of Lynchburg, VA; daughter, Claudia Dickens and husband Gene of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Susan Moon, Catherine Barrett, Phillip Dickens, Courtney Dickens, Lindsey Winfrey, and Aaron Stroud; two great-granddaughters; six great-grandsons; and brother-in-law Thomas Brown of Marion, NC.
