Obituaries

Wilma Irene Hass McGinnis, age 93, of Lincolnton, died on Monday, November 3, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Marvin United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the North wing of the church from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m.

Mrs. McGinnis was born February 24, 1921, in Catawba county, to the late Luther and Thedosia Davidson Hass. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas McGinnis. She worked as cafeteria manager for the Lincoln County School System for over 25 years.

She is survived by a son, William “Bill” T. McGinnis, Jr. and wife Catherine Pappas McGinnis of Ferrum, VA; a daughter, Patricia Sears and husband Joseph of Seneca, SC; and two grandchildren, Christopher J. Sears and wife Tara Evans Sears of Atlanta, GA, and Erin E. McGinnis of Ferrum, VA.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 S. Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
