Obituaries

Edmond “Bud” Andrew Grigg, Sr., age 78, of 3679 Wyant Road in Vale, died on Thursday, November 27, 2014.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church with Don Dion officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Grigg was born May 1, 1936, in Catawba county, to the late Marshall M. and Verlie Blankenship Grigg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers Marshall “Junior” and Hershel, and sisters, Ruth, Helen, and Jeanette. He served in the National Guard and then later worked for, and retired from, Carolina Freight Carriers where he worked as a truck driver.

He is survived by his former spouse, Lottie S. Grigg of Vale; by a son, Edmond A. Grigg, Jr. of Vale; two daughters, Lisa G. Gamibini and Glenda Grigg, both of Vale; a sister, Louise Dion of Leesburg, FL; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Andrew.
