Gwendolyn Helms

Gwendolyn “Penny” Helms, age 84, of 862 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, December 13, 2014.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Andy Royals officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Miss Helms was born December 16, 1929, in Lincoln county, to the late Frank Dorse and Emma Lewis Helms. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Helms, Frank Helms, Jr., and Jack Helms, and four sisters, Betty Buser, Hester Byers, Dorothy Fullerton, and Katherine Kirby.
She is survived by two sisters, Pearl Helms of the home, and Phyllis Hawley of Stanley.
Memorials may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
