Obituaries
Cecil Clinton Dellinger, age 74, of Vale, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2014, at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Crouse and Rev. Don Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Dellinger was born September 16, 1940, in Lincoln county, to the late Ottis Roosevelt and Gertrude Blanche Drum Dellinger. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Clint Dellinger, Jr. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal E5 for five years and then later worked as a truck driver for 46 years and retired from Yellow Freight. He loved farming and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joy D. Dellinger of the home; two daughters, Renee Dellinger and Angie Dellinger, both of Lincoln County; two sons, Todd Dellinger and Michael Dellinger, both of Lincoln county; eight grandchildren, Justin and Amanda Ray, Ruskin Dellinger, Ashley and Alexis Dellinger, and Kelsie, Kara, and Clint Dellinger; three great-grandchildren, Tylan Ray, Isaiah Ray, and Clint Dellinger; a brother, Ken Dellinger; and two sisters, Blonnie Travis and Joan Ballard, all of Lincoln County.
