Alice Nora Varner Crouse, 87, of 4712 E. Highway 150 in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Providence Road Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Worley, Rev. Macon Ballard, and Rev. Terry Ritchie officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Receiving of friends will take place from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crouse was born July 3, 1927, in Lincoln county, to the late William and Hattie Jane Willis Varner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Clayton Crouse. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Eddie Crouse, Barry Lynn “Goldwater” Crouse, both of Lincolnton, and Kenneth Wayne Crouse of Newton; two daughters, Linda C. Hedgepeth and Beth C. Ballard, both of Lincolnton; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
