Obituaries

Mr. David John “Nappy” Humphreys, age 57, of 3128 Blandwood Lane, Maiden died Sunday, December 21, 2014.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Pederson officiating.  The family will speak to friends following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Humphreys was born August 6, 1957 in Tampa, Florida to the late John V. Humphreys and Elsie Reisen Humphreys Mensch.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather Elwood Mensch.

Survivors include two sisters, Diana Humphreys-Abernethy and husband Donnie of Lincolnton, Robin Gross and husband Mark of Sherrills Ford; two nephews, Eric Gross and wife Felicia of Maiden and Jacob Leatherman of Boone; one niece, Kristine Leatherman of Lincolnton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
