Howard Avery
( May 29, 1936 - December 29, 2014 )
Mr. Howard “Hop” Lee Avery, age 78, of 1369 George Brown Road in Crouse, died on Monday, December 29, 2014.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Crouse with Rev. Jaie Warlick and Rev. Rick Sloop officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Avery was born May 29, 1936, in Lincoln County, to the late Steve and Gladys Elmore Avery. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Avery. He worked as a foreman at Cochrane Furniture Company for 64 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Wyant Avery of the home; a son, Steve Avery of the home; a sister, Mary Lou Beattie and husband Dwight of Crouse; and a nephew, Scott Beattie and wife Becky of Lincolnton.
