Obituaries

Mrs. Jane Ella Carpenter Milburn, age 73, of 234 Bynum Road in Lincolnton, died Friday, January 9, 2015.

Her funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at South River Baptist church with Rev. Ernie Richards and Rev. Larry Chapman officiating.  Her body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Milburn was born March 31, 1941 in Lincoln County the late Rev. Fred and Lorraine “Dinky” Poovey Carpenter.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clyde Ray Milburn, one son, Chuck Milburn and one sister Jo Jackson.  Mrs. Milburn was retired from textiles. 

Survivors include one son, Rick Milburn and wife Tracey of Lincolnton; one sister, Judy Cline and husband Jerry of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Josh Milburn, Brent Milburn, Brittany Milburn, Kacie Cox and Kelly Milburn Mellentine and husband Thad; one great grandson, Van Mellentine.
