Martha Hord Houser

Martha Hord Houser, age 81, of Denver, died on Monday, January 19, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hobson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Houser was born June 6, 1933, in Lincoln county, to the late Jess and Thelma Dellinger Hord. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Cornwell Houser. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by three sons, Randy Houser and wife Roxanne of Denver, Chris Houser and wife Brenda of Connelly Springs, and Eric Houser and wife Kim of Sherrills Ford; one daughter, Diane Keeney and husband Claude of Denver; one brother, Charlie Hord and wife Gail of Denver; eight grandchildren, Amanda Thompson, Brandi Houser, Brandon Houser, Lacey Small-Houser, Casey Small-Houser, Kristin Houston and husband Devin, Katie Adcox and husband Eric, and, Kyle Houser; and five great-grandchildren, Kiersten Biggers, Brooklyn Houser, Mason Houston, Jude Scruggs, and Mackenzie Houston.
Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 378 N. Pilot Knob Road, Denver, NC 28037, or to Catawba Regional Hospice, Sherrills Ford Unit, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
