Martha Jane Gray Carpenter
( October 22, 1930 - January 28, 2015 )
Martha Jane Gray Carpenter, age 84, of 1613 Arden Drive in Lincolnton, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church with Father David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carpenter was born October 22, 1930, in Hawesville, KY, to the late Charles and Mary Ann Egan Gray. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son Scott Carpenter, a daughter Jeannie Bush, seven brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren, William and Tina Rae. She was a loving wife and mother of so many.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul G. Carpenter; four daughters Barbara Kiser and husband Carl Alan of Lincolnton, Cindy Kieft and husband Ronnie of Lumberton, NJ, Rose Mary Carter and husband Kelly of Gastonia, and Linda Paulette Tuno of Lincolnton; a son Paul Evans Carpenter and wife Gina of Denver; three sisters Mildred Riley of Kentucky, Shirley Perkins of Florida, Barbara Eganlauf of New Jersey; twenty-one grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
