Dorothy Elizabeth "Dot" Owen Smith

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Owen Smith, 88, of Lincolnton, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at CMC Lincolnton.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Andy Royals officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was a native of Davidson County, North Carolina and was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Owen, Sr. and Lula Spry Owen, her husband, John F. Smith, and three brothers.
Dorothy is survived by her children and spouses, Tony A. Smith and Wanda of Lincolnton, Deanna S. Whiteside and Bill of Gastonia, Bobby V. Smith and Debbie of Maiden, Jody B. Smith and Diane of Delaware, Patrick M. Smith and Julie of Denver; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Pallie Jane Hege of Lexington; brother Bobby Jo Owen of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care Lincoln County, 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Southern Piedmont Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
