Sue Lutz Haynes

Sue Lutz Haynes, age 82, of 7043 Butler Drive in Sherrills Ford, died on Monday, February 9, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Haynes was born April 3, 1932, in Gaston county, to the late Truman V. and Essie Friday Lutz. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son Harry Dean Haynes, a brother David Lutz, and two sisters Inez Beam and Starlene Smart. She worked for Duke Energy.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joel Haynes; two sons, Joel Michael “Mike” Haynes and wife Nancy of Dallas, and Larry Eugene Haynes and wife Jeannette of Maiden; one brother, Claude Lutz of Stanley; two sisters, Virginia “Bit” Smith of Conyers, GA and Linda Rhinehart of Gastonia; daughter-in-law, Shanoa Morrel Haynes; four granddaughters, Leigh Ann Lackey and husband Jason, Kelly Marie Diaz and husband Wendell, Jackie Haynes, and Brittany Haynes; one step-grandson, Pete Morgan and family; and three great-grandchildren, Nolan Diaz, Julian Diaz, and Alexia Diaz.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
