Robert Riddick Padgett

Robert Riddick Padgett, age 85, of Denver, died on Friday, February 13, 2015.
His funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Denver United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Johnsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Denver United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:15 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Padgett was born February 4, 1930, in Colleton County, SC, to the late Cecil Marvin and Lillie Ackerman Padgett. He was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Cele Padgett and husband Ray. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and then later was self-employed in the fertilizer and chemical business.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Cummings Padgett of the home; three daughters, Gloria P. Jenkins, Maline P. Stross and husband Bryan, and Bobbilu P. Walden and husband Paul , all of Denver; one brother, William C. Padgett and wife Helen of Walterboro, SC; seven grandchildren, Felicia Bustle and husband Johnny, Monica Smoak McCutcheon and husband Jamie, Tony Fargnoli and wife Meredith, Will Smoak, Jessica Walden, Tyler Walden and wife Susanna, and Hannah Walden; and four great-grandchildren, Savannah Burgess, Sam McCutcheon, Luke McCutcheon, and A.J. Fargnoli.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Denver United Methodist Church, PO Box 661, Denver, NC 28037.
