Robert Council Cranford
( February 27, 1940 - February 19, 2015 )
Mr. Robert Council Cranford, age 74, of 1369 Little Valley Lane in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, February 19, 2015.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Wyant and Mrs. Susan Horvat officiating. A continuation of celebration and fellowship will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Cranford was born February 27, 1940, in Wake county, to the late Robert Council Cranford, Sr. and Elizabeth Bounds Cranford. He graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh and then later graduated from N.C. State. He formerly lived in Wallace, NC where he attended the First Presbyterian Church and worked as a textile engineer for JP Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Elvie Hammet Cranford of the home; two sons, Bart C. Cranford of Cumming, GA and R. Bradley Cranford of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Caraleigh Cranford, Clayton Cranford, and Kaylyn Gideon; one sister, Betsy Cranford of Garner; and one brother, C.B. Cranford and wife Colleen of Ohio.
