David Alonzo Smith, age 61, of 1031 Leaping Brook Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, April 20, 2015.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at Mr. Smith’s home.
Mr. Smith was born December 12, 1953, in Duplin County, to Helen Johnson Smith and the late John Nathan Smith. He served in the United States Army and then later worked as a construction superintendent.
He is survived by a daughter, Savannah Anne Smith of Gastonia; his mother, Helen J. Smith of Newton Grove, NC; a stepson, Walter Ryan Owens of Charlotte; a significant other, Jane Townsend Poteat of Lincolnton; a brother, Charles Cecil Smith of Newton Grove, NC; a sister, Florence Smith Stewart of Erwin, NC; a number of nieces and nephews; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
