Inez McGinnis Cloninger
( July 1, 1922 - April 30, 2015 )
Inez McGinnis Cloninger, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 30, 2015, at Brian Center in Lincolnton.
She was born on July 1, 1922, in Gaston County, the daughter of the late Summey and Dare Rhyne McGinnis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dennis C. Cloninger; a special friend Walter Manley; four brothers Lester, John, Ernest, and Calvin McGinnis; five sisters Mae Jenkins, Ada Green, Betty Hastings, Florine Beam, and Bessie Bowman; and one great-grandson Noah Godfrey Cloninger.
Survivors include her son Roger Cloninger and wife Joyce of Cramerton; granddaughters Beverly Rapp and husband Tommy of Belmont, Brenda Roycroft and husband Randy of Morrisville; two step-grandsons Chase and Tyner Roycroft of Morrisville; a very special great-granddaughter Natalie Rapp of Belmont; and a brother C.A. McGinnis and wife Jo-Anne of Crouse.
A service to honor this wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Redemption Outreach Center, 700 Lithia Inn Road, Lincolnton, NC, officiated by Rev. Jerry Goodman. Visitation will be from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
The family would like to thank her special caregiver, Evelyn Gibbs; her wonderful neighbors at The Greens; her special friend, Earlene Jenkins; all the wonderful caregivers at the Brian Center, Lincolnton; and Wendy Lewis of Palliative Care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Inez to Redemption Outreach Center, 700 Lithia Inn Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Holy Angels, P.O. Box 710, Belmont, NC 28012-0710.
