Flora Mae Ballard Lawing, age 83 of 1709 Balfour Lane in Charlotte, NC died Monday, May 18, 2015.

Mrs. Lawing was born December 29, 1931 in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Ballard and Johnsie Ada Houk Ballard. Mrs. Lawing enjoyed working previously as a teaching assistant in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Her brothers, Lester and Raymond Ballard preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:30p.m Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Maiden, NC. Rev. Raymond Hamrick will officiate. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Lawing of Charlotte, NC; son, Marty Lawing and wife Susan of Greensboro, NC; sister, Margie B. Upright of Mooresville, NC; step grandson, Taylor James of Conway, SC and step great- grandson Jase James.
