Margaret Lillian Jones Ray

Mrs. Margaret Lillian Jones Ray, age 91, of 1125 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Friday, May 22, 2015.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Monday prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ray was born on May 27, 1923 in Rutherford County, NC to the late John and Fannie Noblette Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Homer Verlin Ray, sisters, Janet Garrison and Bertha Rector, brothers, Paul Jones, Claude Jones and Ernest Jones. She worked as a nurse at Lincoln Nursing Center for 20 years. Margaret loved her family and enjoyed extensive traveling in the United States and Europe.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Tutherow and husband Darold of Lincolnton, Rebecca Powell and husband Roger of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Michelle Johnson of Lincolnton and Michael Powell of Vale; four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ian, Cayden and Bryson.
Memorials may be made to The Steven Wayne Garrison Memorial Fund, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
