Roger Dean Sherrill

Roger Dean “Pole Cat” Sherrill, age 62, of Maiden, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Saunders officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Sherrill was born January 14, 1953, in Catawba County, to Mattie Smith Sherrill Morgan and the late William Oscar Sherrill. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary “Fizz” Sherrill. He worked for CommScope and also did construction.
He is survived by a son, Jason Sherrill (Diserie) of Hildebran; a brother, Bobby Sherrill (Jody) of Virginia; three sisters, Mary McCaslin (Gary Smith) of Maiden, Barbara Jones (Melvin) of Denver, and Glenda Smith (Mike) of Lincolnton; and three stepbrothers, Lawrence Morgan (Regina) of Maiden, Edward Morgan (Becky) of Hickory, and Scotty Morgan (Melody) of Maiden.
Memorials may be made to the Children’s Spine Foundation, PO Box 397, Valley Forge, PA 19481.
