Obituaries

Mrs. Carolyn Elizabeth Johnson Howard, age 84, of Greenville, SC and formerly Lincolnton died Saturday, July 11, 2015.

Her funeral will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at Boger City United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral at Boger City United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Howard was born on December 6, 1930 in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late LeRoy C. Johnson and Maude Bentley Johnson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Asbury Howard, two brothers and two sisters.  She was retired as a bank teller.

Survivors are one son, Phil Howard of Travelers Rest, SC; three brothers, Ronnie Johnson of St. Hickory NC, John Johnson of Lincolnton and Mike Johnson of Hickory; three sisters, Racheal Ballenger of Lincolnton, Reba Goodson of Lincolnton and Sue Cardarelli of Conway, SC; two grandchildren, Seth Howard of Travelers Rest, SC and Ethan Howard of Travelers Rest, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 155 Deacon Piller Court, Duncan, SC 29334 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
