Walter Elliott Caldwell

Mr. Walter Elliott Caldwell, age 91, of 1259 North Hill Drive in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, July 16, 2015.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Walter was born March 28, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late Noah Frank and Leola Pearce Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Marie Sain Caldwell, eight brothers, and one sister. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and then later worked in dealership collision repair management and appraisal service.
He is survived by two sons, Andy Sain Caldwell and wife Kim of Lincolnton and Roger Elliott Caldwell and wife Ann of Belmont; two grandchildren, Crystal Caldwell Frost and husband Danny of Indian Trail, and Nicki Caldwell Cahoon and husband Wayne of Mint Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Cahoon and Samantha Cahoon.
