Billy Joe Devine
( October 3, 1932 - July 22, 2015 )
Billy Joe Devine, a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War, born October 3, 1932, passed in peace at age 82 on July 22, 2015, under the care of hospice, at Lincoln Rehabilitation Center of Lincolnton.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Myrniss Self Devine, and lovingly remembered by sons, Joesph Alexander Devine and wife Susie, Thomas Michael Devine and wife Lynn, daughter Frances Devine Bowery and husband Gary; two sisters, Bonnie Devine Michael and Brenda Devine Stalvey, He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Alexander Devine and Ifa McGaha Devine; siblings, Pauline Luke, Junior Devine, Jimmy Devine, and Ray Devine and his loving daughter, Sheila Diane Devine , eleven grandchildren, one step-grandchild, nine great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.
Receiving of friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Philadelphia Lutheran Church, 1910 Philadelphia Church Road, Dallas, NC with Pastor Gary Weant officiating. A graveside service with military rites by DAV Chapter 53 will follow.
