Margaret Moore Reep
( September 18, 1943 - August 4, 2015 )
Margaret Moore Reep, 71, passed away on August 4, 2015, after a courageous three year battle with breast cancer.
A memorial service to honor Margaret’s life will be held at Denver United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the Family Life Center.
Margaret was born on September 18, 1943, in Charlotte, NC to the late Marvin B. Moore and Edna Ewing Moore. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Earl Arnold.
Margaret graduated from Garinger High School, Appalachian State Teacher’s College, and UNC- Charlotte. She retired after a rewarding career as an elementary school teacher with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. While attending Appalachian State Teacher’s College she met her husband, Yates Reep and they were looking forward to fifty-one years of happiness on August 15th.
Since retirement she has enjoyed her time traveling, working with several church groups, singing in the choir, helping many of the residents of Lakewood Nursing Home, and spending time with her family – especially those five grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Yates Reep; daughters Amy Stiltner and husband Jeff of Clayton, NC, Elizabeth Byers and husband Greg of Huntersville, NC; one son, Andrew Reep of Denver, NC; one sister, Martha Moore Marks of Charlotte; and five grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, and Bryson Stiltner, and Zachary and William Byers. She has one “adopted” child, Fernand, from Chad. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
