Bettie Sue Keener
( July 2, 1929 - September 23, 2015 )
Bettie Sue Keener, age 86, of 539 Sigmon Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at McKendree United Methodist Church with Rev. Gregg Plott officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Keener was born July 2, 1929, in Catawba County, to the late Everette and Irene Shuford Bumgardner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Emily Kiser and Yvonne Helms. She worked as a school bus driver for Lincoln County Schools.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Ferguson Keener of the home; a son, Dale Martin and wife Judy of Lincolnton; a sister, Shirley Carswell of Hickory; and a step-grandson, Ryan Willis and wife Rachael of Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McKendree United Methodist Church Youth Fund, PO Box 426, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
