Obituaries

Mr. Claude Wesley Roberts, age 81, of 562 Jerry Crump Road, Lincolnton died Friday, October 2, 2015.

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday October 6, 2015 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Brad Philbeck officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at Southside Baptist Church.

Mr. Roberts was born on March 30, 1934 in Montgomery County and was the son of the late Clarence and Sally Dennis Roberts. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.  He retired as a supervisor in the textile industry.

Survivors are his wife Jane A. Roberts of the home; one son, Tim Roberts and wife, Therese of Concord; one daughter, Kim Mumpower and husband, Jeff of Clover, SC; step-son, Jeff Johnson of Lincolnton; brother, Roy Roberts of Mt. Gilead; sister, Juanita Harwood of Mt. Gilead; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Halvorsen and husband Jared, Rebecca Roberts, Mari-Megan Roberts, Amanda Northam and husband Phillip, Kristin McArdle and husband Mike, Cole Mumpower; two step-grandchildren, Dakota Vancise and Shane Vancise; four great grandchildren, Piper Northam, Mileigh McArdle, Skylar McArdle and Delaney McArdle.
