Ella Mae Abernethy Heafner

Ella Mae Abernethy Heafner, age 95, of 2693 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015, at High Shoals Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence, Rev. Phil Campbell, and Rev. Doug McClain officiating. The family will greet friends graveside after the service.
Mrs. Heafner was born October 9, 1919, in Gaston County, to the late Henry Miles and Bertha Rhyne Abernethy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Thomas Heafner. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Martin and husband Fred of High Shoals; brother, Bill Abernethy and wife Inez of Lincolnton; three sisters, Phyllis Friday and husband Lamar of High Shoals, Frances McConnell and husband Ronnie of Lincolnton, and Shirley Abernethy of Lincolnton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to First Baptist Church of High Shoals, PO Box 37, High Shoals, NC 28077.
