Ronald Woodrow Brooks

Ronnie Woodrow Brooks, 74, passed away on Thursday, November 5th, 2015 at his residence.
A service and celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 pm at Marvin United Methodist Church, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, NC on Sunday, November 8. Rev. Jim Tate will officiate the service.
Ronnie was born June 11th, 1941 in Asheville, NC. He attended Inca High School and Appalachian State University where he completed both his bachelors and masters degrees. He taught at Charles D. Owen High School in Buncombe County and Enka High School in Asheville, NC, and was later the principal at Central Elementary School and East Lincoln High School in Lincolnton, NC. Ronnie went on to become the Associate Superintendent of Lincoln County Schools and later served with the Department of Planning, NC State Department of Public Instruction. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, C.W. Brooks and Lucille Brooks, and a brother, Terry Brooks.
Survivors: wife Joann Holloway Brooks, daughter, Edyie Brooks-Bryant, and husband Robby of Oak Ridge, NC, and grandchildren Parker Andrew and Logan Brook, and brothers Bill Brooks, Denver, NC, and Frank Brooks, Candler, NC.
A reception of friends will be held at 2:00 pm at Marvin United Methodist Church, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton on Sunday, November 8. Arrangements by Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Marvin United Methodist Church Youth Ministry, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
