Robert W. Taylor

Robert W. Taylor died at home on November 8, 2015, in Greenville, SC.
He was born in Lincolnton, NC on October 16, 1939, to the late Wray and Kathryn Taylor.
Robert was a graduate of Lincolnton High School and Lenoir Rhyne University. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy where he served as a Naval Aviator. He retired from Duke Power after 25 years of leadership in marketing. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Sertoma Club, and a faithful member and servant of his beloved church, Trinity Lutheran in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Hoyle Taylor; three children, Susan Bachmeier and husband Mark of Wilkesboro, NC, John Taylor and wife Carrie of Matthews, NC, and Kathryn Cline and husband Matthew of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Taylor, Henry, and Zack Cline of Charleston, SC, Mary Woinarowicz and husband Jacob and their three children, Cayden, Harper, and Rylan of Bismarck, ND, Adam Bachmeier and Ben Bachmeier of Wilmington, NC; brother Frank Taylor and wife Marguerite of Gastonia, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Taylor and his wife Mary Ann.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Daniels Lutheran Church in Lincolnton at 12:00 noon, and a celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville, SC with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 421 N. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
