Obituaries

Mrs. Edith Ann Price Stroup, age 79, of 617 East Park Drive, Lincolnton died Friday, November 20, 2015.

Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Michael Collins and Rev. Jimmy Rudisill officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Monday in the North Wing of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Stroup was born on February 15, 1936 and was the daughter of the late James and Pearly Mae Privette Price.  She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Roy Manus and a grandson, Jonathan Small. Mrs. Stroup retired as the owner and operator of Stroup’s Childcare Center.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Cecil Stroup of the home; one son, Ray Manus and wife, Nancy of Valrico, FL; four daughters, Elizabeth Calaway of Lincolnton, Elaine Crouse and husband, Barry of Lincolnton, Gail Hollis and husband, Carl of Lincolnton and Ann Rudisill and husband, Jimmy of Cherryville; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
