Dorothy Sain Hoover
( June 11, 1923 - December 15, 2015 )
Dorothy Sain Hoover, age 92, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, and formerly of 1199 Cat Square Road in Vale, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Jack McHenry officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hoover was born on June 11, 1923, in Lincoln County, to the late Thomas and Jina Sain Carswell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Charles “Yates” Hoover, a sister Betty Rhyne, two brothers-in-law Don Rhyne and Gene Hoover, three sisters-in-law Beth Carswell, Marybell Hill and husband Maynard, and Alda Hoover and husband Bob.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Hoover and wife Debbie of Vale; two daughters, Brenda Sain and Glenda Rudisill and husband Gregg, all of Vale; one brother, Clinton Carswell of Vale; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Ann Rhyne and husband Bill of Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Shrine Club, PO Box 1173, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
