John Albert Hilton, Sr.

John Albert Hilton, Sr., age 86, of 212 Charles McGinnis Road in Crouse, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015, at North Brook Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Wise and Rev. Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Hilton was born July 17, 1929, in Catawba County, to the late Shuford and Etta Proctor Hilton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his aunt and guardian Doc and Lela Scronce, a brother Ezelle Hilton, and three sisters Ileen Fulbright, Eunice Cloninger, and Blanche Reitzel. He retired from Carolina Freight Carriers where he worked as a truck driver.
He is survived by his children, Bobby Hilton, and wife Sheena, of Marion, Karen Towery, and husband Sonny, of Morganton, John Hilton, Jr. of Kings Mountain, and Becky Church, and husband Brad, of Stony Point; his ex-wife and friend, Myrtle Hilton of Cherryville; a sister, Dottie Ostwalt of Newton; one granddaughter, Deah Swanson, and husband Chris, of Granite Falls; and one great-granddaughter, Sydney Swanson.
