Suzette Ballard Grooms
( July 28, 1954 - January 14, 2016 )
Suzette Ballard Grooms, 61, of 1707 Old Mill Road, Lincolnton, gained sweet victory and went home to be with her Lord on January 14, 2016, after a valiant and courageous fight with ALS.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Covenant Bible Church with Rev. Mike Devine officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Born on July 28, 1954, to the late ET and Willie Mae Ballard. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Ballard.
Suzette is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Nathan; son, Aaron Grooms and wife, Lori; daughter, Amber Grooms Mincey and husband, Marty; son, Andrew Grooms and wife, Amber. She was an amazing Nana to Davis and Luke Grooms, Rachel and Blake Mincey, Hudson and Harrison Grooms.
Suzette was a loving wife, mother, and Nana who loved her family, ballgames, and the beach, but above all, she loved Christ and the joy of knowing and worshipping Him. Nathan has been blessed throughout his years of ministry by her constant support and encouragement.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to Carolinas ALS Center, 1010 Edgehill Road, Charlotte, NC 28207.
