Hazel Pauline Barnhill

Hazel Pauline Barnhill, age 84, of 308 Green Street in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Barnhill was born June 3, 1931, in McDowell County, to the late Lawrence Logan and Agnes Lynch Rumfelt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie David Barnhill.
She is survived by a daughter, Cecilia Ann Thornburg of Maiden; three sons, Joseph Barnhill of Lincolnton, Ricky Barnhill of Charleston, SC, and Johnny Johnson of Lincolnton; two sisters, Shirley Lynn and Joann Giles, both of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren, Edwin Shelton of Lincolnton, Lisa Martin of Maiden, Johnny Thornburg of Cherryville, Justin Barnhill of Lincolnton, Lauren Barnhill of Lincolnton, Ashton Barnhill of Boston, MA, Johnathan Towery of Lincolnton, and Crystal Johnson of Lincolnton; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 200 Bethel Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
