Kandace Long Helms, age 32, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham and Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Kandace was born September 10, 1983, in Gaston County, to Danny and Tammie Sisk Long. She worked for the YMCA.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew Helms; two sons, Mason Daniel Helms and Peyton Alden Helms; parents, Danny and Tammie Sisk Long; sister, Sarah Long; grandfather, Ralph Sisk; grandmothers, Helen W. Helms and Shirley Simpson; sister-in-law, Kelly Miles, and husband Steven; nieces Laney Miles and Addison Miles; and in-laws, Jimmy and Debbie Helms; cousins, Mathew Long, Marshall Long, Scott Long, Logan Long, and Jennifer Philbeck; aunts and uncles, Morris and Linda Long, Denise Long and Ken Cash, Ronnie and Janice Helms, Sherry and David Cantrell, Delana and Steve Clark, David and Sandra Helms, LaDonna and Mike Lawing, Trina and Tracey Parker, Leah and Holland Peters, and Gena and Scott Wright.
Pallbearers: Steven Miles, Richie Haynes, Alan Stamey, David Helms, Scott Wright, and Greg Tucker; honorary pallbearers, David Cantrell, Marshall Long and Matthew Long.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boger City Baptist Church, 2201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
