Mary D. Fortenberry Martin

Mary D. Fortenberry Martin, age 90, of Carolina Care, Cherryville and formerly of Hallman Mill Road, Vale died Saturday.
Her funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Martin was born September 25, 1925 and was the daughter of the late John and Susan Hoyle Fortenberry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, France Gold Martin, Sr. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker.
Survivors are her son, Gold Martin and wife, Rhonda of Vale; one sister, Selma Ledford of Hickory; one granddaughter, Alyssa Nicolle Martin; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.
