Clarence Eugene "Cooter" Gantt, Jr.

Clarence Eugene “Cooter” Gantt, Jr., age 85, of Peakwood Lane in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Roseland Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Teems and Pastor Ricky Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Gantt was born July 5, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late C.E. and Jina Mace Gantt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Gantt and Ernest Gantt; a sister, Margie Hoyle; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Hendrick. He worked as a mechanic in textiles.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Smith Gantt of the home; two sons, Roger Gantt and Kenneth Gantt, both of Lincolnton; two daughters, Debbie G. Black and Angela Gantt, both of Lincolnton; two brothers, Blair Gantt and Wireman Gantt, both of Lincolnton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warlick Funeral Home, c/o Clarence Gantt Funeral Fund, PO Box 1407, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
